The Blackwall Tunnel is within the borough and is one of the only Thames crossings east of Tower Bridge — breakdowns or closures here cause major disruption across the whole area. The A2 (Rochester Way) passes through the south. The A102 (Blackwall Tunnel Approach) carries concentrated traffic to and from the tunnel.
